Overview:
In stressful and uncertain times, it is difficult to know what’s next for our organizations, much less for ourselves and our human capital. As we approach the middle of an extremely challenging year, what is the best way to take time out and reflect on where we are, where we are going, and how we are positioned for renewed growth when the economy recovers?
During his 40 years at General Electric, Bill Conaty was a leader in shaping the modern face of Human Resources. For 14 years, he ran Human Resources at GE and worked closely alongside Jack Welch, influencing Jack’s thinking about the highly valued role that senior HR executives play in organizations. Bill transformed GE’s HR department from a support function into a high-level business partner, fostering a deep bench of talent and focusing attention on the need for continuous leadership and development. In addition to his legendary reputation for outstanding talent management, Bill handled one of the most important CEO succession challenges of the century: the seamless transition from Welch to Jeffrey Immelt in 2001.
Bill Conaty will address why it is crucial and how it is possible to maintain a performance culture at all times. Though business cycles may necessitate changes in the way in which performance is evaluated, if there are no metrics against which to benchmark and differentiate amongst employees, it is impossible to win in the ongoing war for talent.
What you will learn:
- Why Differentiation of Employees is Important
- Candid Communication During Uncertain and Challenging Times
- How To Downsize and “Rightsize” In Human Capital Intensive Industries
- Opportunities To Maximize Talent and Build a High Performing Team
