Overview:
According to World Business Forum 2010 speaker and best-selling author Charlene Li, we are in the midst of a groundswell - the spontaneous movement of people using online tools to connect, take charge of their own experience, and get what they need -- information, support, ideas, products and bargaining power -- from each other.
The groundswell is creating a new reality in which customers are demanding that they be given a role in all processes of a business and forcing organizations to give up control – or more specifically, the semblance of control.
At the same time, command-and-control leadership and traditional hierarchical structures are too brittle to deal with fast-moving changes. But there is also a very real limit to how much control a business can give up.
This shift is about much more than simply being open, authentic, and transparent. It requires a considered and rigorous approach to leadership, strategy, and management that can be studied, emulated, developed, and most importantly, measured.
This online seminar will help you understand the role of social media and social technologies as catalysts and how you can develop your own successful social media strategy. Based on her business best seller, “Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies” (Harvard Business Press 2008), Charlene Li outlines a road map to winning in the groundswell. She will also spend a good portion of the online seminar taking questions from the audience.
What you will learn:
- Proven strategies for tapping into and succeeding in the groundswell
- What the ?Engagement Pyramid? consists of and why it is so important
- Keys to building relationships with your customers and learning from their conversations
- How to lead by being open and giving up control ? and why it is so important in the newly social world
